NPC list

user warning: Table './biermanb_drpl1/accesslog' is marked as crashed and should be repaired query: INSERT INTO accesslog (title, path, url, hostname, uid, sid, timer, timestamp) values('Suggestion: Music!', 'node/213', '', '38.107.179.241', 0, '18442992ba6a19d6e91f06f1ec142c15', 147, 1328810791) in /home/biermanb/public_html/modules/statistics/statistics.module on line 64.

One thing that bothered me already several times during a game is that npcs arent listed anywhere. It is pretty easy to forget about them completly during a combat and besides that there is no chance to see the npcs initiative except if you note it on a extra paper which is not available for the rest of the party....

My suggestion is ....

The DM is able to create more users on that list....flagged as NPC like they are flagged as USER and -DM-.
If he is able to create 'fake users' he surely can rename them and add the initiative to their names like we usually do it in a game for the better overview.

Well though it is surely clear already here is the example:

GMP | NAME
-DM- Dungeonkeeper
USER Frodo
USER Gandalf
NPC Bill, the pony (:P)
NPC Stupid Farmer from Bree

Even horses or alike could be listed in there.

Well this and another thing that I mentioned online already is that this list of user's should be editable by the DM. Well to make it clear the DM should be able to move player#1 from line #1 to line #2. There could also be a function that sorts the list automatically by the alphabet. If it is editable by the DM it would be able to place the players in the way the marching order is.

Besides the possibilty to display the marching order and together with the function to autosort by alphabet with a single mouseclick we wouldnt have lists like

12_player 1
8_player 2
15_player 3

A sorted userlist would be easier to read and to proceed the combat turns one by one starting at the top of the row.

I think this would improve the gameflow... maybe in just a subtle way but still...

yeah....

EDIT: Well of course I realized right after my post that there is already the sort function for names. It just didnt seem to sort numbers in front of names correctly....anyway I will check it out again later. May be this is already done and I just didnt realize it. I ll know about it when it comes to the next fight.

EDIT2: After the fight....well, forget about what I said about the list and how it sorts the names. It works of course as it should be.
The editable list for the DM is not necessary anymore as well you can display the marching order with numbers as well though it just doesnt look that good to have a number.

NPC list

Those are actually very good options.. Slightly trivial as they might seem, they would be very helpful in game and make combad much friendlier.. I agree..

In other news "l33t-speak is for sissies"
01001001 00100000 01110000 01110111 01101110 00100000 01111001
01101111 01110101 01110010 00100000 01100001 01110011 01110011
00100001 00100001 00100001

NPC list

Most of it is not feasible in the current situation, the NPCs may be added, but the other stuff just isn't feasible with the current list setup. I will look into natural sorting the list however.
