D20 Modern Game

I may be intrested, but having played Modern D20 before and not owning the book... i'm not sure if i can...

Well theirs only one book you need so if you got it the cost wouldn't be that much. I was thinking of a campaign with low magic. Some enemies might have some magic but the magic level will be toned down. Most of the enemies will be people but there will be a few monsters. Thats what i was thinking.

Doesnt d20 modern have low magic anyways?? All thats really 'magic' is the FX abilities.

Yeah, I might be in too. Youd need to tell me a bit more of thje game setting though and of what sort of campaign itd be. I'm not into hackenslash at all.

If you get Magica Arcania (or whatever) magic almost becomes commin place...but aside from that it's 'low' unless you count the back of the book.

Well I don't want to play Urban Arcana. If somebody else has the book and would like to Gm that would be great. I'm sort of a newbie.

i've put some thought into this and i was thinking about buying the book. i'd be tempted to DM, but i'd rather play. if there's enough support, i'll go buy the book, if i decide i want to DM, unless someone else wants to.

after reading what I have, i don't think it would be wise for a person who has never played a system before to DM. there is lots of stuff I still don't understand.

That having been said, this topic has one week to rally support. If we get 3-4 players that can play (reliably) on either Tuesday or Friday (during the day, starting at roughly 4pm CST, give or take an hour, and lasting for about 4 hrs) every week, I will DM. Three players minimum, four maximum.

Because it's taken far too goddamn long for people to rally for DUNGEON! and I'm killing it stone dead.

Hey, I was just wondering. Can we get some Background info on what our camp will be like. I can Assume we are on Earth and are in Present time(as in not 90's, 70's or even WWI era). However, What Continent are we on; is association with Department-7 as per the book or other simmiliar organizations allowed; And, while not usable now but are still something someone might want to look forward to, the use of FX. Im sorry if this seems overwhelming, please take your time awnsering these are your leisure, I just want to know alittle more about the setting and what not since most of us, as well as you, seem to have little experience with D20Modern.

You can still be in. CST is GMT -6. So, if we started at 4 CST and played for 4 hrs, we'd finish at 2am Saturday morning, GMT.

alright, so, question.

do i need the Advanced Firearms Prof to use a gun with Semiautomatic?
I'm getting contradictory reports from the book.

imo, that's pretty fucking stupid if you can't. i've fired 2 guns (both .22s, bolt action rifle, 8 box pistol) and i had no problem with either one of them. The pistol was semiauto, and i (was only allowed) fired off 5 rounds in quick succession, with a fair degree of accuracy.

Okay, that's great. However, were you in a firefight? Were you trying to dodge bullets? I think the answer is no.

However, that doesn't matter. Advanced Firearms Prof. is for using [i]Automatics[/i] on the automatic setting, not the semiauto setting. Semiauto is, essentially, the same as single fire (one shot per bab), except that some feats (Double Tap) require that the gun be a semiauto for the feat to function.

So, basically... If you had Double Tap, you couldn't doubletap a Derringer. In the core D20 Modern book, that's the only ability (that I've found) that makes special use of the semiautomatic setting. I'm sure there are other feats/abilties that make use of the setting.
