Does this program offer support for other systems besides just D&D. I'm not really an avid D&D player, i only play it sometimes nowaday. I play Stargate SG-1 a bit more often. I was wondering if this program offers support for Stargate SG-1, or any other RPG systems?
Support for other systems?
I believe the answer is "Yes." The dice system is set up so you can roll any sort of ones you want, and things like "NPC talk" and "Actions" I'm sure are in your SG-1 game. Now I've never heard of an RPG based on Stargate, but hey if you come on here I'm sure you can show it to us, and maybe get a following for a game and such.
Lord of Castle Black and host of the never-ending party. Collects Morganti weapons and illegal books. Likes Eastern brandy, his sword Blackwand, and going on killing sprees.
Support for other systems?
Yes it does. This program basically supports all pen & paper games.
I am not really familiar with the Stargate rpg system, so I looked it up and I noticed Stargate needs more and more dice as you level up, so maybe that is the reason why you were wondering if opnpw will be suitable for such game..and it is (it has more dice then any pen and paper game will ever require (so far anyway) )
So in SG system at first level, players get three d4s, but the quantity and type of die goes up -- to d8s and d10s -- at higher levels. The game master always gets d12s, but the number varies based on the size of the player dice pools and the number of players at the table.
Now, For example lets say you are a first lvl player, and you need to roll 3 d4s..all you have to do is type "/roll 3d4" (without the quotation marks) follow it by the enter key to see the result in the screen.
You can read the first page of the newcomers guide for more details on action commands and dice.
Hope that explains everything. If not, just ask again for more clarifications on something you need to know specifically.
