I know there were some V:tM campaigns going on earlier...but now that i am back i see none. Maybe i just dont see them. I am interested in playing if anyone wants to DM. I bet there are others that would play to. Just throwin out ideas cause i cant DM V:tM because i have just started playing.

V:tM....what happened?

as far as i know, all the V;tM games folded up.
but yes, i'd like to join (as a newb) too if someone were to start one..

I guess those of us who ran VtM chronicles have gotten bored with the setting. It inevitably happens, you get bored of one game and go on to another, which in this case is the resurgence of interest in D&D 3.5e. Like Arch said, all of the VtM games have folded up.

However, the fact that White Wolf is completely reworking their game setting might also have something to do with it.

V:tM....what happened?

Nah, boredom was never the issue. I blame it on lot of things but not boredom. When vtm games were ran, opnpw community wasn't exactly booming. Schedualing games sucked because all vtm players were from different continents (well..the timezones were different).

The reason mine died is because - one got kicked, one left because of that, Opnpw was almost always not working for Arch, one had time zone issues, one was just unreliable..that left me with Acid, and Morro. You see you don't notice it in games with many players..but Acid likes to be silent for a long period of time sometimes (not that it's a negetive characteristic) so yeah it eventually became a solo player game with morro, and although morro was very reliable and pushed for it's continual (i think) it just seemed pointless .

I am pretty sure when Morro was dming the game ended because of something to do with players and not because of boredom (i recall reading a post about it..but morro can talk about that if he wishes).

The reason you don't see many vtm games nowdays, is because vtm dms are players/dms in 3-4 games that are currently running (lack of time, dedication blah blah blah).

Also although I don't think the changing setting had much to do with it, but it definitly didn't encourage vtm Storytellers.

I just don't get how the writers who have created such a fantastic (ok so the vtm books are not well organized but they are good reads) games ..can suggest an ending in which all the selected vampires by Noah err I mean a girl and a beast , go to a boat errr I mean church and spent 40 days 40 nights..and then good ones becomes humans and the rest die. Hmmmm..I have read something very SIMILAR in some other book.

So it seems VTM writers are ending the chronicle by a story (suggested story..the other stories mentioned suck as well) that is totally influenced by Bible (they have even made reference to it)....WHAT?

One other reasons is VTM seems to be bickering magnet here in opnpw, you run vtm games here you are bound to run into constant arguements and quarrels (which i didn't really mind really, but I was kinda pissed at the fact that players were saying "If he plays..I am not playing" "If she plays..I am out"..this was influencing some of the player's IC gaming, and it just sucked..so I just stopped everything that has to do with vtm here (this doesn't really make sense now, and so I blame myself for that) and just played it only in mirc for couple of months(yes..mirc, unfortunately the players there won't move to opnpw because they are simply too stubborn)

Still I would like to see some vtm games someday in future here...it was still fun while it lasted (for me).

It was just one of those times when you realize that the campaign...won't work, and that the PC's aren't enjoying it. It sucks, but sometimes you just have to end the hard work and know when enough is enough, and sometimes a DM is just tired :) I'm enjoying being a PC right now, its a nice change of pace heh, maybe I'm not the 'future planning' kind of guy
