Prestige Class: The Dreamer
I made a prestige class, and I was wondering if you could please read and review. Suggestions are NEEDED. As of now, this class still need a description of the game mechanics of dreaming and sleeping (which I will make up) the spell dream travel and the skill Lucid Dreaming from Manual of the Planes, and the description of the Dream Demiplane from Dragon #287. It will be forthcoming. For now, here are the two pieces. The first one is the class description, and the second is the class table, class requirements, class skills, and spell list. Your comments please.

EDIT-- As Angelfire is GAY, I have copied and pasted both here.
THE DREAMER
“Look at him,”
Chielan whispered to Thelab. “He’s always off in his own world.” As they were talking to themselves, they didn’t see the poison mist approaching them.
Without giving them a glance, Arie waved a hand.
They looked around, confused, to see themselves 10 feet away from where they were standing.
Dreamers are wayward philosiphers. They invent stories in their heads, sing songs in a whisper, and often stare into space or move their hands, manipulating some unseen object. They seem withdrawn, and sometimes strange to other people. They believe in their dreams so intensely that they can make their dreams reality. Bards and sorcerers gravitate to this class easily, because of its freedom of responsibilities. Clerics, druids and rangers may join also. Barbarians, most rogues, and most fighters are rare in this class, but those who share these traits join occasionally. Wizards and paladins are too focused on their responsibilities to chase such pursuits.
Dreamer Class Features:
All the following are features of the dreamer prestige class:
Bend Reality: A Dreamer of 1st level or higher can use the following spell-like ablities with a caster lever equal to the Dreamer’s class level. He may use them a number of times per day equal to 2/class level: create water, mage hand, prestidigitation, open/close, mending.
Seeing Is Believing (Su): A Dreamer of 3rd level or higher, when seeing an illustration, can create a story in his head can manipulate an image spell (with the exception of mirror image) at will, as if it were a major image. This spell’s duration is reset with the Dreamer’s class level as the caster level.
Invisible Friend: A Dreamer of 5th level attracts an invisible friend. This friend is an animal suitable to the dreamer’s personality. (the animal’s type changes to Magical Beast) The friend is ethereal and visible to the dreamer only. The animal and the dreamer share a telepathic bond. If the friend is slain, a new one does not arrive for a year and a day. Slain friends can be ressurected, but do not lose a level when this happy event occurs.
Dream Vision (Su): A dreamer of 6th level or higher recieves a vision of monumental importance (usually her or another’s death) in the future in a dream.
This ability cannot be used again until the vision comes to pass and cannot be used during magical sleep. It is the DM's choice when she recieves this vision.
Dream Travel (Sp): A Dreamer of 8th level or higher can use dream travel (see the Manual of the Planes) a number of times per day equal to her Wisdom modifier.
Luck Manipulation (Su): A Dreamer of 9th level or higher may reroll one roll per day. She may keep either result.
Dream Plane (Su): A dreamer of 10th level has a 40% chance of traveling to a dream demiplane (see Dreamer Elements, below) of her own creation as per the spell astral projection whenever she dreams. She is aware this effect takes place. The demiplane is somewhere the character feels calm and safe. She can wander this plane, and the plane reacts as a normal one can, except there are no living beings except plants, animals with an attitude of friendly or better (they will not attack the character)
There is a 50% chance of the plane containing a major image of a being the character either knows but forgot, (Example: a parent who died at the dreamer’s birth) a being the character has yet to encounter, or someone else of the DM’s choosing. This character does not speak, and the major image is part of the plane and thus nonmagical.
This ability can be used once per day and cannot be used during magical sleep.
Variant: Some DMs may wish to have this occur to characters who do not have any levels in Dreamer. The chance changes to 30% if the DM wishes to have this happen, or she can just arbitrarily decide that it does.
Spells: A Dreamer has the ability to cast a small number of arcane spells with his imagination. A Dreamer must have a Wisdom of 10 + the spells level to cast a spell. The DC against such spells is 10 + the spell’s level + the Dreamer’s caster level. A Dreamer does not need material components or focuses to cast his spells. A dreamer gats bonus spells according to his Wisdom modifier.

Re:Prestige Class - Dreamer
Very Cool,
In a little while I'm going to add a resource section [I talked about it briefly before the move] to the opnpw site, It'll include stuff for D&D and prestige classes would fit in there nicely.

>get him
>me get him?

Prestige Class: The Dreamer
VERY CREATIVE!! i like it alot, i'm looking forward to the final version =D it's VERY VERY cool. i think you should add an insight bonus to AC at .ike level 10, 15 and 20, +1 each time. that's just a tip because you said you needed help, so yeah, i wouldn't change a thing though, it looks very cool.

Prestige Class: The Dreamer
I'm also deliberating adding dream message as a spell-like ability, moving the Hit Die rating to d4 (possibly) I also wanted to grab the descriptions of the skill and spell from Manual of the Planes but I don't have it myself and was going to skim them off my local comic shop. Too bad they're sold out of the Manual. The descriptions of the game mechanics of sleeping and dreaming, as well as the Dream Demiplane, are forthcoming. I'm opening up another thread to ask if anyone has any ideas about game dream mechanics.

Prestige Class: The Dreamer
Such is their spellcasting...
But sure, I might give them the ability to do something like major creation to reflect that.

Prestige Class: The Dreamer
I've stood back and realized something: The Dreamer has been subconciously designed for roleplaying opportunities. Through all the roleplaying gear I gave it, it has one base flaw.
It absolutely bites in battle.
I gave it slow progressions in Base Attack Bonus, Ref anf Fort saves, and the spells where most classes make up for such slights are almost devoid of offensive spells. I realize now I have to overhaul this class so it can survive 5 minutes in battle. I think it's time to whip out the sinister side of dreams.

Nice
I would think the dreamer to have more mind sheilding abilities (slippery mind, +2 will save vs mind altering spells, so forth) + the ability to cast mind altering spells (standard spells + control dream spells) and eventually be able to create their own dream plane.
Thats just my two cents..
Prestige Class: The Dreamer
Perhaps if I learned Psionics, stuff like that could be added to it... nah. Wouldn't be universal then.

i burn shit. get over it ) [2250] claymored2 i couldn't sully your name [2250] Fish Thatmoos meh sup ya'll Solace Clay just pulled this TOTALLY Hollywood move and saved my ass!
Interesting
Its been a while since last I've poste on this forum, and I am imensly pleased to return and find such an interesting concept coming from someone that is here. No offense to anyone out there, but the last few times I've gotten involved in such things, no one has ever come up with something so detailed, and creative.
As to your problems with the lack of the 'Dreamers' battle abilities, it would appear that he is somewhat taking on the mages role in battle, (Meaning, he isnt up front in the melee portion of battle) therefore, I would decrease the Hit Die to a D4, which allows you to add other benifits to the Dreamer.
Things tend to work out better if you keep it all balanced. In regards to your ideas on the 'Sinister side of dreams' I agree with you on that. I think that would solve alot of problems with the battle situation. Although, I see this 'Dreamer' as more of a defensive class than offensive for the most part, mainly due to the fact that most of the information I've read about is dealing with neutral characteristics, imagery, and safe havens.
Thus, I would definately go into the sinister side of dreams, because everyone needs some offensive. However, I woul look more into the defensive side of the Dreamer. I do believe that the Dreamer would be more adept in battle, if he could defend himself better.
Basically, is what I am saying is this: Decrease the Hit Dice to a D4, like you were considering. Add defensive abilities/spells, and add the 'Sinister side of dreams' also. However, I would set it up so that the Defensive Abilities/spells, progress faster than the Sinister side of dreams would progress. If that makes sense?
Just my views on your interesting proposal. Although, I must agree with everyone else, Very Nicely Done, My compliments.
