Fridays? My last class is at 1 those days...I could definitely do it (well barring other major concerns) I'm interested.

what time exactly on fridays is variable, anywhere from 2 til 7 pm pacific time (depending upon hell and high water etc). Times on other days depends on whether people are around or not :p :) I'll run games for as little as 3 players, tho I am looking for a 4-5 player party (and if it aint too much trouble, excuses for your character if you cannot attend a game for their absence... I have a few to use in a pinch but they're somewhat lame, things like family three towns over coming down with sickness and needin ye to work the farm and crap like that).

Need a bit more suppourt then i'll post worldsetting details! :D

This will be a low magic campaign (sort of, it'll be explained in worldsetting details), btw, but you are free to make spellcasters if ye want. Please also tell me somewhere on whatever sheet ye submit (long as it has everything in a neat and readable manner, I'm happy... but be warned I lack anything I can trust that's more sophisticated than wordpad for win98) what sort of adventures your lookin for (high combat, lots of roleplaying, political intwigue, etc etc) so I can add those sorts of elements into the game. Character motivations/goals would also be a huge help as far as making interesting adventures for ye (how boring it would be for y'all if ye wanted combat and ended up with political intrigue and I didnt have a combat adventure ready!).

Anyways, there be my rambling junk. Have fun makin sense of it! :D

You asked about what I am looking for in your game. Well, I love to roleplay out my decision on what foe to attack. I mean fighting is like pure action. Imagine the adrenalin in real life. I'm definetly not against it. =P

If you run your game in a world setting roughly based on middleearth I already know the vocabulary. You know orcs belong somehow to dark caves in the mountains and the guests in the tavern "dancing pony" are halflings and men.

If this kind of black and white is to be found in your story it is definetly one of those I wanna play.

As for worldsetting, its almost all typed up, only have the well known landmarks and stuff to type up into it then I can upload it somewhere and link it, then do the world map at some point *grumble grumble*

I'll need characters by thursday night so that I can figure the starting area for ye so its not all chunky and odd. Backgrounds would be helpful also in determining this (A campaign that doesn't have a good start tends go go 'ugh *dies*' for me).

ah hell phee, was able to make that lvl 6 character for gormenghast... which i dought will be used mind you, with a PHB file on my computer.

anyways, dought i will be able to do fridays at all now, even if i have a bt of time after school, now i have some sort of thing going on after school, a job traing course of sorts. my only real free days are monday, tuesday, thrusday, and the all of the weekend, but you did say you will do games on days other then friday if theres enough players, so i guess on my free days i just lounge about online waiting and hoping for a game

I have received one character sheet in entirety (from morrolan) including the background of the character (which will aid him in not getting 'first session being lost' syndrome). Anyone who wants help with the background (as I REALLY need it for plot hooks, greater story tie-ins, and helps you get to figure out where your character is coming from, and hopefully also avoid a great deal of grief from 'FSBL Syndrome'. Also helps me in figuring what town to place you in that would suit what your characters backgrounds, personality wants, etc are... in other words, so its not a druid in the middle of a huge metropolis sitting on a concrete bench or something :P ).

The map is unlabelled as of now, but you should be able to figure a few places out from knowing the worldsetting.

As i've edited the hell out of the previous post, and probably someone who has already read it won't read it again now, I've made a new post.

As I only have one fully done character sheet (still), and only one background (from that character sheet), I've made a nice lil survey, only 12 questions, but please answer them as fully as ye can with descriptions. A background OR this survey is required before I'll run the game for you :P aint no scapin it (except for quitting, but please don't do that). 12. What do you as a player like in a campaign? What do you not like? (things like 'i want a dragon' or 'no wars please' sort of things).

Notes on game mechanics etc:

Combat is boring for all concerned... so therefore, to speed it up, when attacking, do both rolls right there (more if nessecary): Miss chance (if any), arcane spell failure (if any), attack, damage, and if it is a spell or effect, please state the DC and what save must be made to negate or halve the damage (and do say whether it is to negate or halve the damage). As far as initiative goes, please change your name so that the initiative is after it, and before your name, your AC. (Ie: Farmer-Bob is now known as 10ac Farmer-Bob 16). You will keep track of your own hitpoints and subdual damage please, as well as how many rounds are left on certain effects upon critters and npcs etc. I'll keep track of the duration of effects upon you. I meddle with critters sometimes, so you may end up fighting orcs from an elemental plain, a six headed (or six tailed) scorpion, a water kobold, and the like. :) Orcs are boring, winged half fiendish orcs from the elemental plane of fire are fun :) Hehe...

If you go to do an action (such as walking down a street), assume success if I say nothing. Asking for success just begs for something nasty to happen :) A note on places with lots of critters, traps, puzzles etc (classic dungeon type setting): The time wasted is inversely porportional to the chance of characters escaping alive. (In other words, wasting time gives me a chance to beef up an encounter. You don't want that. :) But don't worry, I won't be beefing up things if your doing legitimate things... sitting around with your thumb stuck up your ass is pretty much the only thing I call time wasting.) I also tend to describe things lots to keep atmosphere and such. Do whisper me if I become too long winded, or if I become bitchy, or if you feel railroaded, etc.

well, sorry about leaving so soon last night... course it was mid-night and it was a school night, so mom thought i was in bed, and went and turned off the computer the allows my bedroom computer internet, so before i even knew it, my internet was shut off.

Heh biggest award? I suppose that depends on how much everyone else got. 600 xp for a like..5 hour session? Crazy stuff, at least we all lived through it.

i thought the biggest award goes to you coz you did some stuff that actually helped...well...i wasnt able to do much since i barely escaped the water...and not on my own. And the woods didnt provide many opportunities for me to roleplay out my wizardess.

i think the biggest tjhing i did was bribe the bandits off from attacking and killing us... considering we were attacked right afdter by a freaking giant centiped, im guessing i saved us from fighting actaul dangrous opponetnts... other then that, i think i was just being grumpy and stuff

Yes, last time it was me that was brutally mauled. I'm here to make this post to encourage all the myriad players out there to show up for the games. Already there exists a level disparity between a few of us, and if it keeps going the way its going it will end up 'our' game, as the rest of you will be so low in level as to become useless. I'd hate to see that happen, but to fix it you need to show up for games. Maybe if you show up less of us will end up brutally beaten and maimed huh? :wink:

But Morro is right. So my suggestion is we try to make out dates for a game so we can make this cross on the calendar and we know there will be a game. So far the quest is still to get to Solstia to find out more about this letter we once found. You didn't miss too much plotwise but you missed a lot of fun and some strange situations....yes yes...

I am ready for the next game, i know that my level is a little low but i can fix that. I have one thing to say to Alica, i did not attack anybody, i mearly placed my hands on his shoulders to restrain him....then i got chased by a mob but that is a totally different story.

Alrighty, here's a couple House Rules that are just little things (mostly)

TLN (Too Late Now) -- If you forget to mention it at the time its needed, ie being immune to fear, or additional +2 to rolls, and remember later (1 round or 1 minute or whatever amount past when its needed) and mention it, there will be no rewinding of story so you made the save, or got the hit on the critter. This goes both ways. I forget the critter gained +4 str for going into rage, and remember later, I wont do the round over, I will continue as if it was in effect and had the same effect anyways.

DMV (DM's Voice) -- If for some reason a puzzle, riddle, in game problem, mystery etc sticks you and the entire party utterly and completely, you may as a party summon the DM to just out and TELL you. The DM will be summoned as either a Crow or a Dragonfly (you choose) and in addition to what sticks you, the party may ask 5 other questions, yes or no only. The catch? All XP for that session is negated and half of the treasure ye haven't gotten that game up to that point dissapears as if it was never there.

NO PKing. PKing results in an ass kicking :p

Strange Dice Rituals -- If you see fit to mould your body into a pretzel before every time you 'roll' using the RNG (Random Number Generator), please do it quickly so as not to hold up the game. This also goes for praying to the god of dice sitting atop your computer screen etc.

To speed up gameplay, please be ready with your character sheet for things. Also, when rolling for attacks, go miss chance/arcane spell failure (if any) attack roll/save DC for spell and what save, and damage. Thats anyqwhere from 2-4 rolls done in quick succession. The /roll xdy+/-z command is your friend! :)

I know most of what I am gonna ramble about wouldn't be a problem with a battleboard but since we have none it would also avoid confusion and it might not speed up the process but it increases the quality and the gameflow and the excitement of a battle if in the beginning of a combatround (not each round but especially before the first round) you quickly describe the current situation and give out infos especially important for combat scenes.

This involves position of critters, where we are, possible things to take cover if you want, distances (falls already under postion, may be distances are the most important since damage, modifiers and Attacks of Opportunities and prolly much more is treated with the exact amount distance) and if obviously seriously, moderately or lightly wounded and more of this stuff if around/available. This is a repetive job, I know, but I need these details and hesitate with my actions and have to ask first what exactly is going on right now. If I have a picture in my mind about the current situation I wouldn't disturb the flow with my questions. At least less often...

I post this because I think each DM should try to do the impossible task of describing all things clearly to avoid things like :

"I jump off the tree" in my mind I am 12 feet above the ground.
"You jump all the way down...lets see oh jumping from 45 feet is lotsa damage..." coz in the DM's mind I climbed up much higher.
...
This example is surely not the best and even a battleboard doesn't help in this special case but I hope it clears up my point if it wasn't clear enough already.

Indeed, I'll try to be there. On a different note (I hope I can use this thread for this Phee *wink*) I have the Tunnel of Oppression at 8 pm my time today, and I'm not sure how long it lasts.
