Want to play fallout rpg game

Welcome to the line..I have been waiting for a fallout game myself.

Current Characters D

Hmm

I cannot help you if you are talking about the ultra rare Fallout pnp manual that came with Fallout 2 when you pre-bought, but I do have a few other source books around here somewhere. I'm willing to read up a little and try for a small game. Just keep In mind I do not DM very much and I'm not terribly creative before you take me up on the offer. Sticking out tongue

In any case you can e-mail me or IM me at the following locations for a little more info on what sourcebooks I have and such.

Well, to clarify a bit, there was a Fallout PnP game written by Jason Mical (I think that's his name) that some of us used to play. Acido and I are the only remaining GMs of that on OPnPW, although I think Skanime was around here at some point and he was also a GM.

Anyway, I'd run it, but I don't really like the system anymore. It was built as a conversion of the Fallout CRPG rules to pen and paper and not as a stand-alone game in its own right. The rules can be kinda clunky at times, and I don't really like them much anymore. However, I'm still a big fan of the post-apoc game setting.

I did gm Fallout when I had the time to get on DnD online. Anymore it either work or I'm doing something on the weekends, untill school starts anyways, then it'll be a whole nother story. I have time to get on at work, but I never know when I'll have to go do something, but I suppose I could try getting on sometime.
I have to agree with Striker though. The Fallout game is cool, but the system is limited. But the setting is great. I wonder if maybe a few people wuld be interested in modifying the system or coming up with a new one to make a good post apocalyptic game. I know there's ATF, but that's more of a fantasy PA, not really your traditional Mad Max type.

Wasteland based RPG

I have designed an RPG that is partially based on the originator to the Fallout series, "Wasteland" by Electronic Arts.

The game mechanics are a combination of modified TSR's "Top Secret" combat rules, and the "Wasteland" game character profession and skill system.

The game is still in development but I might want to playtest the game out sometime soon.

If anyone liked "Fallout", you may want to check out "Wasteland" too, though it is very dated graphics wise, the game plays really well. It can be acquired for free on the Underdogs game websight.

Some other good RPG's of this type include The Morrow Project, Aftermath, and of course Gamma World, which has a new edition out.

Wasteland was produceed and created by the [once] fine folks at Interplay. It was published by Eletronic Arts. Lets not confuse a monolithic monoculture publisher with a [once] decent developer.

I GMed Fallout back on OPnPW, but that was normally for my little group (only one I remember playing was Sev, but he GMed more than he played..) But yeah.. if anyone wants to GM a game, this is one helluva fun system.. the rules can be found online for free... dunno where..

And aah.. yes... the Morrow Project.. That game was helluva funner than Fallout, if anyone should be able to find a copy of the rules online, do please let me know Smiling

Good point Brad, EA is basically a big distributor.

For anyone who enjoys Fallout, if you don't care about great graphics, but do about amazing role playing and ideas, wasteland is great fun. It is still on the all time best games lists of several mags today, compared with brand new games.

The most official of the unofficial sequels to wastelenad is "Fountain of Dreams"

Fallout is a very unofficial sequel to wasteland as most things don't carry over, except for the setting and gameplay. One huge difference in wasteland is that you can control a whole party of characters.

I will look up the Fallout RPG and compare that to the "Top Secret" combat/wasteland character/skills system I am using.

I would like to run a wasteland plot based RPG using either of the rules. I would like to playtest the ones I made, compared to the Fallout RPG ones with anyone who would like to.

To be honest, with school starting back up in two weeks, I dont want to get involved in anything else (already in FF Latenights) and am reserving myself for only one other game while school is in, and that is Sabers CotV.. But this sounds too good to pass up on.. I love the post apocolyptic warfare genre, and love new games.. so.. yayay! Im in..

I would be intrested in playing, but with GMT to consider, I will almost certainly be sleeping when the game is actualy running.

So yeah, nice idea but...

You have to regard everything I say with suspicion - I may be trying to bullshit you, or I may just be bullshitting you inadvertently.
