when the F#@& did you put sp2 on... well regardless... heck why... the security isnt worth the problems...
Regardless, it shoudlnt be interfearing with this... are you on a account with admin abilities on your computer? is it properly spyware/virus protected?
I need a clue how computer illit/lit you are before i can... assist... properly

I know what you mean, everytime I start up Windows XP SP2 a giant hand pops out of my speakers and punches me in the throat, and sometimes it sings incredibly loud and eats all the food in the fridge. What a freeloader, SP2 is, and that protection it offers is worthless compared to my 4 firewalls, 4 routers SO powerful that they block me from accessing my own computer from time to time, and a giant ion cannon that vaporizes any unauthorized digital intruders.
Anyway... Time for some questionage.
Did you install the Full Installer or just the executable thingy? (The larger file, not the smaller one.) I'm willing to bet you didn't...
If Full Installer, can you normally open .exes?
If yes, do you have VB6 runtime files?
If yes, are any firewalls/popup blockers? blocking PnP for some reason?
If no, Sweet Jesus it just wasn't meant for me to help you :\

I am on an admin account, I use Norton Antivirus, but read on the forums that sometimes that checking what browser you use can be considered malicious by some scanners, so I disabled it, which didn't help. I regularly update and run Adaware, spybot search and destroy, and also have Spyware blaster installed. And about my literacy, I'm not a complete moron with computers, I've been using them my whole life.

yes, i can open any other program on my computer without any problems

yes

I have a D-Link DI624 Wireless router, which I am connected to via Cat5, I have windows firewall disabled, and I am not sure whether mozilla firefox's pop up blocker would stop the program from functioning.

Reinstalling didn't work, tried 3 times. Opening it directly from the exe didn't work either. This is the wierdest thing...

Did you try installing it to a simple directory?
i mean like C:\stuff\opnpw\
This might help... it shouldnt matter, but it might help...
Btw, this is known as a dos compatible directory, short names for folders and no spaces.
Just a though... this shouldnt be it but... O.o

Sravoff:
Lets do this, perform a full install, and get the beta.
http://opnpw.com/files/OPnPW2xUpdate%20Beta.exe
Alright, now lets goto the directory you installed it and locate OPnPW Beta.exe. With this in mind, open up the task manager, and switch to the process tab. If you're unfamiliar with the Task manager right click on the clock and hit Task manager. Now with the process manager open run the program. What to see if it shows up with a process, and what you see. Does it run and nothing happen? Does it appear and disappear from the list? Does a process appear, stays, but no window appears?
And a side bar question, have you changed any Special Location paths, such as where your My Documents resides?
RogueThunder:
I'd like to thank you for attempting to help out users, but please refrain from discrediting valid and wise computer configurations. For the record, SP2 properly installed and applied causes no problems, and closes a huge number of problems, mainly the DCOM problems.
Thanks again.

The original poster can log into OPnPW now. I'll ask him if he remembers what was done to make it work.
