Good Doesn't Always Win, Evil Doesn't Always Lose.
Ok, well here it goes.
This will be a slightly odd game.
For once, you are not the good guys, nor theifs... You are evil, or atleast working for them.
The restrictions on alignment are.
CN TN LN
CE NE LE
I however would prefur them in order of NE/CN, LE, TN, LN, CE.
Although all will be perfectly acceptible.
Killing "fellow" party members is perfectly acceptible. Don't like it, deal with it. We are talking about evil people here.
When someone is killed by natural causes, they will be replaced by a simularly capible person from the "Cindicate" of course, this could mean just about anyone with the same abilties(for instance your cleric dies, you might get a favored soul, or a bard(who can heal) or such. Or a fighter might be replaced with a barbarian, or a ranger, ect) it is unlikely, although possible that said replacement would be the same class, but of course, likely it will be a different race.
If someone dies(or more like when...) by party, or party member, while not under mind control or simular, the replacement will likely be very different. Giving a party who just killed off their barbarian gnoll for instance, another gnoll, or barbarian, would be out of the question, prehaps a drow fighter, would replace it.
Now comes to the fun part.
Your starting ECL will be 6(edited from 5... ran some nums lol), and 2-4(another edit to account for new ECL) of it must be Level Ajust from your race(aka, drow, ect) however Gith races are banned... because they piss me off *wink*, as are many psionic races.
To put it bluntly, confirm race with me ^.-
Classes availible are from almost all standard rules 3.5 books, aka Compleate books, masters of the wild, ectra. (dont try any gesalt bs, this is NOT a gesalt campeign!!![or however its spelt])
And likewise, classes you want to use must be Y/Ned, however the ones in the phb are automatic yes's.
My im screenames are as follows, if you dont use ims, just pm me.
Aim: roguethunderbird
Yahoo: roguethunderbird
Msnim: ijabs@hotmail.com
Icq: wouldnt have a clue, havent used for 2 years...
Oh and im Kaze on the opnpw server, ^.-
Anyway, stats will be 30 point standard point buy, yes thats right 30, not 32. (stop whinieing!!!)
Starting gp is 10,000gp, and no more than 2,500gp may be spent on one item.
And heres a little backround.
The Cindicate is a large organisation covering the shadows of almost all of the mundane relm, and even reaching into many of the lower planes. They are an oranised mob, on a level that is almost unconcivible, illegal goods, assasination, taking care of those "pesky" good guys, and other things... not all of which are evil... A rogue monster rampaging around isnt good for their cofiers either, so often they will deal with things of such dangerous kinds.
Of course, there is a major reason that so many have joined the Dark Cindicate, often the reward for larger missions and accomplishments is worth far more than gold... Tomes that bestow the reader with amazing powers, anything as mundane as a +1 to a stat, or even an entire class level!(usualy exotic)
Gratz, your starting in a bar again...!!!
Of course, this bar also happens to be the waiting room for the office that deals with forming groups for more dangerous missionsm, projects, and such.
Ok down to the last of the dirty stuf.
I need 2 players to start, ill go as far up as 5, ill run game whenever i have 2/2, 2/3, 2/4(maybe 3/4 if its a rough point, that or ill control a missing persons character...) or 3/5 players.
So anyway, apply here, and lets have some fun!
Oh and i will be making a sceduing thread once i have 2 players lol.
Edit: OOOH and i forgot to mention.!!!
Everyone starts at 11.5k exp, meaning you can spend 1500exp and not be a level lower *wink*

Not sure what time, im in pst, but have an insanely open scedual, so far i only have anything happening tuesday and friday(Friday im unavailible after 2pm my time, tuesday im unavailible from 2-4pm my time, and before noon...)
Except next week where i have to go in tuesday, wendsday and thursday, but ill see how much that lasts (ill still be home 4pm pst, and pleanty availible.) (damn star testing, right when i bore of stupid tests they made it 95% of school pop required... and our school is already on the failed 2 years in a row list...)

its there to counterbalance with the "high" LA of the race, so its part of the race, not the cost of getting it. However, remember, all races require dm approval. As do most classes. (all cept the phb classes...)

Whenabouts are you planning on starting it?
At the moment, I'm still dead in the water as far as OPnP is concerned, so just pencil me in. Lightly. With an 8H pencil. But I will gladly get in on it if I can.
*muses quietly* now where did I put him...?
On another subject entirely why does 2-3 have to be from LA? Just curious, not trying to get away with anything. If you can't say, then don't.

Well, Saber's Goblin campaign a few months back was an evil campaign of sorts (of course, we played the peons of evil, but still). However, it kinda died on account of players sucking at tactics.
I'm not really interested in this one, though, don't feel like playing an LA PC. I like to stick to the basic races. (No big loss anyway, I doubt I'd be able to free up any time to play, for a month or so anyway.)

I will play until summer comes around, and then maybe on Saterday. This should be interesting, as I usually don't pick a non-standard race. Other then that, hells of fun, as Psionics often are.

Lets look stupid together. I dont understand the LA so can i just u my char and you adjust? And what campaign world is this? and about the exp, how do you "spend" it as such?
Hi everybody!
Hi Dr. Nick
Good Doesn't Always Win, Evil Doesn't Always Lose.
Level Adjustment.
Some races are more powerful than the 'normal' races, and so get a virtual 'level adjustment', which makes them level up slower.
So, for a Tiefling, for instance, which has a Level Adjustment of +1, when you are a 1st level character, you are actually 2nd level. 1 level from the race, and 1 from the class. This means that in order to go from 1st level fighter to 2nd level fighter as a Tiefling, you really need to go from 2nd level character to 3rd level character.
Note: All bonuses based on class refer to class level. However, anything that goes off of character level really goes off of ECL (Effective Character Level), which is your total levels in race and class.
Again, for instance, you have a 1st level Tiefling (LA +1). That character is a 1st level fighter, but a 2nd level character. Thus, anything that wants to work off of class levels 'sees' it as a 1st level fighter. If it wants to go off of character level, however, it is a 2nd level character.
The distinction is usually a fine one. The difference between character level and class level is non-existant most of the time unless you are multiclassing.
Here's another way which might make it easier for you: Again using the Tiefling as an example. Think of the LA +1 from being a Tiefling as a seperate class for the purposes of figuring up the difference.
In this way, I have a character. The character is a Tiefling 1/Fighter 1. When s/he goes up a level, s/he becomes a Tiefling 1/Fighter 2. I can't raise the Tiefling level, but it can be there as a 'virtual' multiclass to make things easier to understand. Now, there are some rare critters (Thri-Kreen come to mind) that can increase in 'monster' levels, but that is likely beyond the scope of this. For now, you can assume a few things to make it easier until you fully understand it.
1) The 'monster' level is a seperate class from any classes that you take (as in my Tiefling 1/Fighter 1 example)
2) Your 'monster' level never impacts true multiclass. That is to say, it functions as another favored class.
3) When you go up a level, you are unable to take a level in your 'monster' class, since you are that race and it (generally) can't improve.
4) When you go up a level, you are are actually ('monster level' + 'class level) level when it deals with your character level. When you are dealing with Class level, there is no change. A Tiefling 1/Fighter 1 is a 1st level fighter, but a 2nd level character.
5) The experience points that you need to go up a level are governed by your ECL, not your class level. Here is the formula:
Effective Character Level (ECL) = 'monster' level + class level (though in reality it is something like:
'monster level' + template adjustment + total of all class levels, but I simplified it for this case.)
Did that help, or confuse the bejesus outta you?

Ok, now go over the races that CAN improve themselves. Thri-kreen, Dragons, etc.

Both!
Hi everybody!
Hi Dr. Nick
Good Doesn't Always Win, Evil Doesn't Always Lose.
Heh.
There are only a few races that are able to increase in strength from race 'levels' Thri-Kreen are one of the few. Dragons don't grow by adding levels so much as natural aging.
Now, when a Thri-Kreen goes up a level, you have the option to add class levels or race levels. Though I personally limit them to class levels only. Race levels represents a stronger, wiser, older specimen.
However, all of the creatures that you could raise via Race levels are way too high to use in this campaign.
And I apologize that it did both to you. You need more clarification? Just tell me with what and I will do what I can.
fuck that, i am a pretty princess and none of you jerks can tell me otherwise
Good Doesn't Always Win, Evil Doesn't Always Lose.
But if we choose Dragons, are we able to improve them at all?
You click NOW!! Click http//fortyeight.net/lh.php?lXc=2102
Good Doesn't Always Win, Evil Doesn't Always Lose.
Dragons, well, I doubt you can choose them. Remember, I'm just a lowly player in the game. I know when I DM there is no way you'd be able to choose a dragon.
I suppose you could give dragons race levels to go up age catergories, but they are mainly tied to age. But, as rule 0 says "The rules are merely suggestions", your DM's word could best be declared 'law'
Though it would be best to not worry about the whole race advancment issue. The Thri-Kreen, in my games at least, require about 13 or so level character to even begin to play, with a 0th level class character.
Dragons would be quite a bit worse.

Back in the early days of OPnPW I was all about the evilness.. I started a gaming group for evil-specific characters called "eVile" but it died quickly.. I am definitelt in! I heart the evilies! Plus I have a few ideas for some purely fucked up charries.. Ill get back to you when I have made something...

Hi Dr. Nick
Good Doesn't Always Win, Evil Doesn't Always Lose.
Paddon,
Point buy is on page 169 of the DMG, but here is the system. The way it is situated will be the cost to go from an 8 in the ability to the desired ability point.
Ability - Cost
9 - 1
10 - 2
11 - 3
12 - 4
13 - 5
14 - 6
15 - 8
16 - 10
17 - 13
18 - 16
