You don't need a special program to DM. All you do is...
1) Open up PnP and log in.
2) Click on the Games & Tools button at the top on the menubar.
3) Click on Games --> Create
4) Yay! You've now created a game and are DM by default.
In order for people to join, do all of the following, except replace the word Create with Join.
DM Privilages:
*) Can kick people
*) Has different colored text
*) Can see private messages & dice rolls (Note, you cannot see your own private dice roll if you're not the DM for some reason)
*) Can upload adventure tables
*) Can NPC speak
*) Can close and open the game at will, as well as invite
*) Maybe some other stuff too

If your not dm and private dice roll, it goes to the DM. Its for things like secret search, spot, etc checks. Or at least, its very useful for that.
