story time gents. here it comes..... anxious? heh

BEGIN STORY

the world is dead. just no one knows it yet.

december, 2006, NATO has launched a world wide initiative to centralize all government, and stop all internation incidents. in the best planned operation in history, the nuclear nations lost a war on a massive scale. small teams of NATO trained infiltrators took control of all known nuclear weapons locations, disabled the launching mechanisms, and fitted the weapons with detonation devices. effectively, the nations defeated themselves. the few unknown weapons in the world, were launched, causing a massive amount of worldwide panic. china fired six missiles at america, america fired 10 at china, 4 at north korea, and 2 at cuba.

cuba, didn't fire any missiles at all. neither did iraq.

the missiles were in the air, NATO was celebrating the most successful failure in history, and one man saved the world from certain death, at the cost of plunging it into mayhem and chaos. general thomas greene, of the united states military, in charge of a small hidden missile base in arizona, fired six missiles of his own. they exploded in different locations, their blasts being used to interdict the nuclear payloads of each country. sadly, not all the missiles could be stopped.

cuba fared well, no missiles got through. america of course, took no damage.
north korea, and part of south korea, no longer exist. china took one missile.

NATO gave thomas greene an award, and the worlds scientists started moaning about radiation poisoning of the worlds atmosphere. contrary to the previously held belief, the world has not actually taken that much damage from the nuclear explosions.

NATO began centralizing all governments january first, 2007. all armies were disbanded immediately. this led to total pandemonium, as soldiers left their lives of guns and killing, to live lives of guns and killing, and raping besides. police forces were overwhelmed in the initial surge of these NEO-bandits. the populace had a choice. stand and fight, or cower and be taken advantage of, then tossed aside uselessly. different people made different choices.

all throughout the world, NATO is fighting back, police forces are becoming more brutal, and less worried about innocents, as there are very few who are any longer innocent, as defined by previous laws.

gangs have formed, reformed, made war upon each other, and finally settled on turf. the southern half of america was originally controlled by five different gangs. the crips, the bloods, the balla's, the 38's and the cueballs.

as a brief history, the cueballs are the remnants of the neo-nazi's and ku klux clan members.

the crips and bloods are the same gangs that america spent most of the 1990's fighting against.

the 38's are a large number of individuals who attempted to form their own government, and realized it was a lot of work. they thereafter gave up, and began securing territory with simplistic rules.

the balla's were an exception to the rule. these individuals were truly at a loss for what to do, and so formed together to kill everyone that offended them, and generally have a damn good time. unfortunately, they far outnumbered the other gangs, and are still considered to be the gang that would have won the turf wars.

after the original five gangs were established, 2 months of constant jockeying for position, another gang was formed. funnily enough, it was not actually a gang, so much as it was ten people. one man lead the gang, and in fact was the only known member of the gang.
his name, was alex mcmillan. the other 9 members were in charge of keeping the hostage's alive.

this new gang, which has been christened "brutality" approached things with a much different tact. alex had himself fitted with two devices, one a type of dead mans switch, so in the event of his death, a bomb would go off. the other, a false tooth, which when bitten down upon released a rather unhealthy dose of cyanide. he then proceeded to kidnap family members of other gangs members. the bomb was located in their holding area, and the message was clear. join me, or i hurt you how best i can. the crips and bloods members were eaten away, as former members participated in family raids on other members families, swelling the ranks of Brutality. once the numbers topped 20 thousand members, Brutality issued a letter to the now crippled gangs leaders. the crips and the bloods were absorbed in the last stage, willingly. it was the only way for them to survive.

Brutality now held a rather daunting position, and had taken only 6 months to acieve it. the balla's took notice, and promptly started a war. brutality's leader, alex, sent the leaders of the 38's, and the cueballs a small letter. the contents were simplistic. "fight back, or we all die. P.S. the world will be ruled by niggers."

this letter was looked at in some consternation from each gangs leaders, as their formost desires were laid out in the letter. the 38's wanted to live, and the cueballs were scared of anyone who wasn't short fat and white taking over the world. since alex wasn't short or fat, they had to settle on the fact he was in fact white, and was therefore the only hope that the unspeakable wouldn't come to pass.

october 2007. the balla's are mostly beaten, and Brutality has completed the absorbtion of the 38's and the cueballs. Brutality has become the most cohesive group in southern america, and the balla's are dismayed to find there is no mercy... only brutality.

november 2007. the balla's are but a memory, and brutality has released it's prisoners. the formerly coerced members are now outnumbered by the members who willingly joined. needless to say, they left well enough alone and attempted to settle into the new lives they'd found.

september 2007. alex has had the implants removed, and is now the king of the southern united states. violence is common, and minor gang warfare is a regular occurence. however, unlike the northern america's, life isn't so bad.

in north america, the populace has been overwhelmed. former soldiers of america are constantly roaming throughout the northern america's, in small numbers.

november 2007. the police forces formed by NATO are attempting to make america an orderly place. some sections are controlled by these new police forces, some are not. northern america has the highest concentration of newly instated police forces, and the former soldiers are falling back. the southern section of america has had a few area's taken under control by these new police. Brutality is in a constant battle to protect it's members and their families from these new forces, and everyone has their own agenda.

December 2007. the fighting continues, people die, and some look for religion. funnily enough, alot of people realize that the world is currently not safe for anyone who won't stand up for them selves, and religion is adapted to fit this view.

january 2008. present day. weapons factories are still producing weapons, to noone's surprise. most weapons are as easily obtained as they were in the year 2005. noone uses bombs, because of the massive damage possible from retaliatory strikes. the world is a strange new animal. people working in each individual city or county patrol the roads, cleaning up any accidents, deaths, or destructions. some people live lives that are reminiscient of the 90's. NATO has issued a common currency, the credit. credits are kept track of in a worldwide bank. the old cellular networks of america make it a center for commerce, since transactions of money are kept track of over a telecommunication device similar to a gameboy color. NATO leads a double life, one as the government trying to stabilize everything by standardizing all things, and the other by trying to be in direct control of everything. since the worlds currency is controlled by a central entity, everyone has the ability to live a good life. NATO has provided the means for illegal organizations to survive, since not providing these means would be amazingly stupid.

Sounds interesting to me Do you have more info on stats and ability scores and what you can use the points for?

I love the storyline, yet unfortunatly i cant play because i dont understand d10 and those specifications you listed. Soz.

Very intriguing. Should make for a pretty good mRPG setting, heh. I will start thinking up my character.

i thought about posting the rules i've come up with so far, but my rulesmaking skills have never been even decent. so it's as easy as the game is closed. ask tux for a game, or the rules to it, he's much better than i am. love his games.

Would you like to run a poll on that, Solace? You + Striker hardly make up "everybody".. though I suppose your inflated ego should well enough make up for any lack of actual input from the whole community that is "everybody"

Aside from that.. Clay, if you would still like to run this game, I could work on mechanics for you. I am brilliant when it comes to creating game mechanics.. Just PM me if you are interested and I will give you my email..
