Hello Everyone,
First, I'd like to thank everyone whos been apart of OPnPW, and everyone that has joined along the way. Thank you for making it all very fun.
That said, OPnPW is not being shut down. Heres the low-down.
At this point, I don't know where I'm going to go with college, I am leaning far from computers and cannot guarantee that I'll be able to update the sofware, so a final redesign is in order.
The basic premise will be, a new ground-up client that will be more robust and feature the cleanest possible interface i can muster. Alot of things will be cut, there is a chance new things will be added. The old client will continue to work, and no new server side items will be added.
Over the next while, with community support and conjunction, I'll draw up a project requirements and prospectus, then set a schedule, and hopefully have the final most stable version out by years end. After final regression testing, it will be the last OPnPW client released in the near future.
This is the basic outline of a larger idea of mine, but I'm not going to go all out and write it all. I'd like to see if theres any community backing, and input.
We'll See.

Anywho, sounds like a good plan, Tuxie, far better than what could be normally hoped for (which is just that oPnPw isn't shut down), I'm behind you 100.453299534212356%, and if you need any help or what not, I will try my best to help...though...I'm not that great at programing sometimes...so...I don't know if that's going to really put you at an advantage. :oops:
I just have one simple demand, and that is before you leave I get new pictures from you (I shall be posting a topic demanding new pictures from older players and pictures from newer players in the near future), I'd also prefer you be naked aswell...if not...I'll just settle for a provocative expression. :wink: :twisted:

I belive it is safe to say that no matter what you do, the community will back you up 100%.
With that said, I've got loads of ideas.. I am not sure if this is where you want to hear them or not, so I will just list one or two.
[b]Make Buttons[/b] Since the current version allows you to create and import your own skins, I thought why not take that a step further? Allow the users to create their own buttons (in addition to the current feature of being able to select what buttons are shown).
Example: Player creates a macro->button that rolls six occurances of 4d6, adding up the three highest numbers, and lables the button as "Attribute Generator"
[b]Dice Formatting[/b] As suggested in the above example, allow for more formatting of the dice. Some ideas for functions include reroll ones, discard highest/lowest # of dice, and also the ability to place dice rolls mid sentence.
Example: "/me thrusts his longsword into the goblins chest. [1d20+3]" or "/roll 7d6; show highest (4)"
[b]File Sharing[/b] This one does not require any explanation. Just note that it would be great to be able to upload, for example, a regional map to show a group of players without having to host it yourself (website, ftp, whatever)
Most of the features/ideas I have are just making the program more adaptable to each user, thus making the overall program more attractive.

As to muddy:
The new sysem will use a central formatting system, so that anything, Actions, PMs, etc, will all pass through a central system, for dice rolls, formats, etc.
