Futuristic URPS

Ok folks, the next chapter or so formed in my mind as I drove back in the car from San Diego...so what I really want to know is:

Do people still want to play it?

If so, what people do I even have for it?

And lastly, when the hell are you bastards all available?

I expect prompt replies because well...I'm a GM and I can do that? :lol:

You already know about my possible schedule, with the possibility of getting a job and all. I will be trying for an earlier shift for it after my commited 45 days on the 1 pm to 7:45 pm one (Id still me around 2-3 days a week outside of that).

I am unfamiliar with the system.. but Im a quick learner.. I'm on the lookout for a game anyways.. if you got room... count me in!

I suppose I could extend the extraneous effort to play Furps still. So you can count me as a player who is here and ready to play.

And so another glorious session in the annals of the IEC Phoenix happens...although this time it was on the Solaris mainly. Our valiant crew went out to investigate the anomalous object near the smaller star's corona in the binary star system. Following a series of mishaps, they came closer...and in the whisps of solar energy and illuminated against the starfield it appears to be some kind of vessel....

The next session is whenever I see everyone on for it, oh and new players *might* be welcome..that is if people don't mind doing other things at different intervals...or maybe being in different places, who knows all I do know is that I don't want to overstress myself :)

Oh and feel free to post input and suggestions etc. I like hearing them.

God damnit...stupid change of the log in thing...that up there is me.

The fact that both of our ships seem to be falling apart remind me of about 3 star trek episodes and one red dwarf episode. The ones where the ship starts failing and chunks of it are destroyed randomly without any plausable reason. I think you know which ones I mean... What sucks is all of these episodes ended with the ship exploding (or on fire). I hope this doesn't happen to us... it would be quite an unfair fight.

Maybe we can take over the alien ship. It would be cool to get a hand on alien technology and weaponary. I mean we are kinda running out of options here.

Here are suggestions:
1: Run the game more often.
2: RUN THE GAME MORE OFTEN!
3: Add the section on special abilities, and mutation
4: Don't worry about the game being slowed down for a while, it speeds up quick enough
5: We don't for normal sessions need all the players
6: RUN THE GAME MORE OFTEN!!!!!!

Special abilities...and mutations. You know I'm open for suggestions from anyone on this, because its early in the morning, I'm a little sick and my mind is shot. Alexian, not sure what you mean by the game being slowed down...do you mean too much PC banter or the lack thereof?

Acid, the reason the ship isn't working properly is that you were sabotaged, AI shut off and tampered with, the disasterous first IDA jump that nearly tore the ship apart....I wouldn't just do this to you for no reason.

I'd love to play, just point me to somewhere i can read up on the rules :) for some reason i find a good furutristic RPS is hard to come by.

I would be exceedingly joyful if I could partake in this event, however TIME is the real decider in this world, as it creates restraints for everything, including when I am available for gamming.

I never see either of you on Melubb/Sevain...though despite the fact I've been informed that sessions with not everyone there could be possible considering that the Phoenix is a massive ship. I could have some concurrent plotlines going about, if its not a pain in the ass. Thing is, I don't want to have characters made and then you guys never show up, because right now its really really hard to add new characters in (barring the possibility of aliens or something, but I have a feeling the other players would lynch me if I allowed that...not to say that aliens even exist :) ) Anyways, post in more detail about your desires or get in touch with me using a PM or AIM.

She's been tending to the Captain...which has been difficult due to the fact the ships systems are on the fritz. Currently thats attempting to be fix, but the manpower is just too little...its a very large ship, a kilometer long and many decks deep.

OOOOO....thats alo of stuff to power....cant they have bigger engines installed? or a better power source?

The engines are truly monstrous...the engines have to be able to pierce space and transport the ship through ID slipstream. Usually the ship can power everything fine but it got sabotaged, as well as sustaining heavy damage through a rather rough first ID jump without the AI or navcomp support. Rather fun huh? :)

Alright. I have never played a Game such of this. I must say you all have me quite and oddly wanting to play. This is odd because i disslike the fact of being a "Player". I must play this if the fact of newbie is gonna be okay.

WOW!..This has a lot to it..Sounds very AWESOME!..I must play it..It seems to challegeing to learn all at one time. One must play and become familar with it. To get more control over what is happening. I want to creat a Yeti>Warrior . I was wondering if someone can send me A character sheet. So i can learn how to make one. If possible have him finished. Then from there I will learn how it was done. The changes. Etc.....I am viewing it yet again to get a better understanding.

Hmm well aside from the fact the future is humanocentric (read: no aliens/other races aside from human). Yeti are solitary and really...not meant to be PC's. They should have been put in with the monster section. Anyways, the system is awesome yes I know, being a family creation :) Be sure to read the history, and be familiar with the general concept too...have to be on more of course, and adding more people in might be difficult.

Not only that, but the class 'warrior' isnt the brightest thing to have in the future. "You swing your sword only to find that he shoots you 14 times with a GR-33" is going to happen a lot. Unless you mean warrior as in soldier...

Yes..A soldier..Is what I meant...I have read the history..Thus is the reason why i wish to take part of this game...It just not so easy..The rolls are different and will take time to learn the concepts much more into detail.

Tux, only warriors can use swords in URPS, regardless of what the dictionary doesn't say. And it was meant as a joke anyway. Of course nobody would really use a sword in futuristic times, since there is no 'warrior' class anyway :\.

That'd be a 1000 EP I do believe, seeing as how people of the future generally have more education and experience, that and you are off on a spaceship and newbs (500 EP) just won't cut it.

Well...well...well, it appears that perhaps the futuristic adventures can continue, seems as though people actually miss it :) I'm sure I can be accomodating to you Striker, after all its a big ship, with plenty of crew around waiting to show their true colors in the aftermath (mwhahah only those of you in game know of what I speak)...anyways, all you old members are welcome to post and rejoin if you want to, if not I'll have to make a few changes :P Nothing for the rest of this week though, work=no time for planning and such. When are people available for this?

We were on away mission, and then our ship encountered unidentified flying objects, that seemed to be made out of certain metal that our ship's computer can't identify. And then we were about to dock in one of these ships. That pretty much sums up the last session's memory.

Captain was hurt, Terrorists bombed Athena, someone sabotaged our IDA, the science officer's room was all messy for some reason, emitting radiation, we were sent to land on an anomalous space structure, the shuttle engines were damaged and we almost crashed or something, we had just landed.
