Monster Manual IV
I was really bored last night and was searching wizards and came upon the news that wizards plans to realease MM4. I always like having more monster books so that I can throw new unheard monsters into a game without having to kill myself for a homebrewed idea.
The summary stated:
An indispensable resource containing new monsters suitable for any Dungeons & Dragons game.
Monster Manual IV is the most recent volume in the bestselling Monster Manual line. Sure to be popular with both Dungeon Masters and players, this supplement to the D&D game provides descriptions for a vast array of new creatures. Each monster is illustrated and features a new stat block format that facilitates faster gameplay. In addition, the book includes sample encounters, pregenerated treasure hoards, and sidebars on how to incorporate the creatures in a Forgotten Realms or Eberron campaign. This product is tied to 2006’s Year of Dragons theme, which is a key marketing platform across the D&D RPG, novels, and miniatures brands.
We will have to wait til 8/2006 to see if the book is all its cracked up to be.

There are still monsters in the original MM which are rarely used, and so which, when they were used, they were quite, quite unheard of.
New monsters a better game does not. =\

Monster Manual IV
Personally, I prefer to send NPCs against players. I can add more variety when the Enemy has a Personality.

Monster Manual IV
Monsters have pleanty of personality. The problem is Wizards does not provide much / any aide for helping DMs roleplay the monsters they publish. Instead of publishing more hack and slash material I would rather if they spent the time working on an accessory resource for the 3.5e MMI, where instead of including mechanical data for the monsters they write backgrounds, habit, cultural information, and the such for each of the monsters. THAT I would buy...
