DDO (D&D MMORPG)
Anybody here know about dnd online? it's abbreviated ddo, and it's an mmorpg. Karlth and I have started playing (free trial so far to decide whether we like it or not) and we play on the Reidra server, in case any of you guys are also interested in joining us, at least for the trial period so we can see if it's worth it, start now because it's only 7 days long and if we don't keep it then you won't see us on after this coming sunday's end.
My name is Qual, and Karlth's is Karlth
we play with one more, and we are going to get a couple other people to try it with us, so post here if you're gonna be signing on, so that you can guarantee yourself a party to play with
the website is ddo.com and i think you can get the trial from trial.ddo.com, if not then just go to the main site and on the left side there's a FREE TRIAL banner (vertical)

DDO (D&D MMORPG)
I played heavily in beta, as well as during the headstart, but eventually decided not to continue playing.
The good and the bad:
The quests, imo, are better and more interesting than, say, those found in WoW. The goals are more than just go from X to Y, kill # of Z, and return to NPC 1.
When I was playing, I made the character I thought would be best able to solo (and I was able to for almost the entire harbor section, which is actually somewhat impressive in that game), a Warforged Barbarian. Now, admittedly, I had to dink around forever to solo, because the quests were insanely hard for solo-ists, and often required multiple character types to complete successfully.
My major complaints about the game, though, had nothing to do with its quests (which I thought were the real selling point of the game). I didn't feel the game had enough longevity or replay value, as there was no PvP ever planned, and you can only go through a quest so many times before it goes stale (although, I loved the quest where you had to kill 200 kobolds; I could have done that one all day long). The other complaint I had was that there was nothing for players to do outside of quests. There was no item creation, no crafting, not even some simple clothing modification that could be done to personalize your character. This made the game feel incomplete, imo.
All in all, I felt it wasn't worth buying the retail version of the game.

DDO (D&D MMORPG)
i see many downs, and also many ups, at first i was so frustrated (the only other mmo i played was EQ), but now i'm handling it a bit better.
I'm a cleric, Karlth's a sorcerer, our other friend is a paladin, and if we get the two more we're trying to, they'll be fighter and rogue. We planned out the diversity of classes so that we can get a full experience of the game in the one week we will definitely play it for.
The main benefit is now no matter where we are (i.e. college) we can set aside, say saturday's 7-10 to play together, so it doesn't become controlling, and we can get our D&D out during the school year. I dunno about anyone else, but sometimes i get D&D anxiety when i go too long without playing anything. it causes me to make up random campaigns that never get played, because i feel the responsibility to do something D&D oriented every other week or so.
Anyways, if anyone feels like trying it out, i recommend now as a good time, cuz you'll have a party, you'll have the humor of friends, so you can get a full experience of the game as you would after months of playing
EDIT: that includes you too, Saber

DDO (D&D MMORPG)
I'm not particularily interested in getting into DDO (or any MMO for that matter) at the moment. I'm currently waiting for Heroes of Might and Magic V (which I will be getting tomorrow, actually).
Not only that, but I doubt I'd be able to make any times that the party would be online anyhow. My schedule is pretty attrocious.
