i think just about every DM here had a Muddy-experience...one where you pull some kind of, dimensional door loophole item as a level 2 fighter, kind of thing.

It's quite alright, it makes for funny stories, and i think you've gotten better now

I am not sure that [i]every[/i] DM has suffered at the hands of one of my powergamed character. The funny thing is I never intend to make a ripped character, I am just always in doubt of my characters abilities. I either make too powerful of characters, or completely useless characters. So when I finally finish making one I feel they are capable of keeping up with the rest of the party. Then all of a sudden the DM says "Quick! Goblins are attacking!" followed by me "Wow that was a fun fight, right guys? Guys? What? You haven't even finished rolling your initiatives yet?"

In other news, I don't play hack and slash DnD anymore, now I play to roleplay.

Nah. I'll visit for a day or two and then not appear for another year and a half. It's my style. It leaves people wanting more. Or just not knowing who the hell I am.

What Xareth means is, the people who don't know him will be left wanting more. Those of us that do know him are glad for his brief to not so brief hiatus.

I think I knew people from the old D&DO better than when after everything got switched around. So, are Striker or Mikkl or Morro still alive? I've not seen them on AIM in quite some time. Clay IMed me randomly awhile ago, but I was out. I see Acid on AIM every now and then, but we don't ever really talk.

Edit: And to be a killjoy, Anouri was a compulsive liar and liked to run around talking trash about people she was calling friend five seconds ago. I can say I know this to be true because it happened to myself and other friends repeatedly. We (being my friends and I who knew her before she ever came to these forums) actually composed a list once of things she told us, and found almost everything conflicted, and apparently none of what she told us was true, according to someone who knew her better than us. Just thought you should know. :D

I agree about Anouri. Maybe she did have friends, but from what I experienced she just liked fucking with people. I harbor no ill emotion towards her though, she just didn't like people is all. Or maybe she did, I don't know. But still, just to feed my curiosity. Does anybody know her current status?

On another note, Mikkl is still around. I chatted with him for a while on AIM a few days ago. And even made a nice little thread for him to post in. Which he did.

He comes by my house once in a while and we go to parties, unfortunately he dropped out of my latest D&D campaign i run with karlth, dunlop, and a couple others that don't go on opnpw. (in person...obviously). Me and Karlth spent countless days/nights working on a new system we created based on roleplaying, rather than statistics. I guess EQM/Andrew just preferred to keep it in statistics, so he had restrictions he could keep track of. He didn't like the idea that if well worded, well thought out, and very carefully planned you could score a coup on a first hit in a fight. But that's the truth, if you're not expected a fight, there's a much higher possibility somebody can walk by and just happen to catch yuor blindspot and get a knife in yuor neck. Done, son. heehee, anyways....

As a matter of fact, you can usually[color=red]*[/color] catch me online every 2nd weekend from Thursday to Sunday, because that's when I get back home from the base. (10 days in the base, 3 at home)

That invitation was actually for the ceremony of my course, after we finished it.

I really wish I could play RPGs nowadays but I don't have time for it (never thought I'd say that...). I tried getting a group together in the base but people are afraid of things like that in an army-environment, even if they used to play before they enlisted.

Anyway, I think I played on D&DO at age 13, that means 6 years ago...

Where you at / what you in? I have a friend who enlisted. Went through basic training for U.S. Cavalry, now he is in Airborn training for 3 weeks, and directly after that they are offering him Ranger training. Fecking impressive. That man will be king one day!

I remember striker and caleb, i started playing with the group on dndo when i was 14ish, and we're all around the same age, so that would be 5 years ago for me. i don't know where striker's disappeared off to, and i don't think caleb ever came to opnpw. You should come on once every two weeks when you're on vacations and throw in a post here and there, maybe striker will came a random re-appearance too! and who knows....grimmah?

Currently, I'm in the IDF (Israeli Defence Force), I have been for a year now. Army service is mandatory in Israel - 3 years for men and 2 years for women. Hmm what else is worth mentioning? I've a girlfriend, we've been together for a year and some 3 months or so.

I -could- post something every 2 weeks but honestly, whenever I get back home and take a look at my desktop I am surprised to find various icons on it... re-remembering putting them there. Then I start realizing what I had been doing last time I was home. It's kind of like having 2 different lives, so I doubt I'll remember the forum in a week or so...

I have a couple of friends in armed forces, i see the same symptoms in them too....I know what it is

so....are you serious? I'll assume you are, since there's no smirk or anything in the post...in that case, Grim is quite possibly the best roleplayer i've ever had the pleasure of playing with, but has recently gone AWOL. He was a pretty decent part of the community a long time ago, especially on the old forum. He made a name here and made something like 30 posts, but then disappeared. Neither Karlth nor I, Clay, or Striker could find him. Striker too has left, now AWOL cuz we know where he went, but i stumbled upon Grim again recently. And he's fiendin for a game :-D

it couldn't be, because ever since i remember he's been one of the most courteous guys i know. He was on dndo, that's how i met him. He didn't go on much to chat, mostly for games. I think he almost got Mod status here too, but Striker got it instead. it used to be me, karlth, dunlop, striker, grim, and acid_trees playing on and off a lot with eachother, switching off DM'ing. Striker was great at everything, dunlop was the goofiest kid on earth, Karlth was amazing at being aloof, grim was the best RP'er ever, and Ardan (Acid trees) is still the best DM for D&D style games (Tux for MRPG :-P). It was through Karlth that i found DnDO, and through DnDO that i met almost everyone here, except for a couple.
