Just a little idea... READ!!!
So, Solace's thread (the one that had something to do with Game thing?) made me think. But only a little.... don't want to scare anybody "What? Muddy, actually firing up them ol' synapses?"
I would like to start up a campaign to be played through the forums. The general idea is something I have been tossing around for a while and decided would be too difficult to try and make a standard DnD game out of. Playing through the forums however would make it much easier to manage.
The general idea is something like this. Each player is a manager who hires and trains combatants to fight in gladitorial style combat. Luckily due to modern scientific advances, the mages of the Crown Academy are able to revive the bodies of the dead combatants. So there is no real collateral damage, unlike in the old days where we tossed men around like barbarians. You will be able to do many magnificent and awesome things.. most of which I have not made up yet... but the few ideas I have had so far include creating your first arena fighter, betting on new contracts (purchacing NPCs which myself or other players have designed), scheduel fights with other managers and gain enough wins to enter into the annual contest of champions, purchase equipment for your combatants, and possibly even train them to improve upon their current skills.
If this builds up any interest I will compile the rules for the game and Tux will create a new section of the forums dedicated soley to this game. If this becomes popular enough I might even need to hire on more DMs to keep the games running smoothly. So now I beg the question. Is anybody interested?

Mud... about what you are doing, didn't you try this before? An arena-ish type OPnP game? I could have sworn you did, but maybe that was someone else. In any case, I only have one thing to say...

Well, right here I guess. I need at least 4 players to get this rolling.
After talking to Multi for an hour or so last night I have developed the idea a bit further. First, let me start by mentioning that this games main purpose is to promote more activity on the forums. The game's format is such that you can play with any scheduel, whether you work all the damn time or have an odd sleep scheduel, all you need to do is take 5 minutes a day to post your turn. I'd say so long as we would complete one turn per day things would be going smooth enough, but it would be prefferable to complete many more.
Anywho, onto the new ideas.. no wait. I have to go to work now (drats!). Oh well, that post is for another time.
One last thing before I go... SIGN UP!!! please :)

Heh. Yeah, I think I'm actually going to be spearheading this with Muddy, DM-wise. We'll be coming up with 'official' rules for how it would work. I'll get with him later, and I'll add you to the in list. Consisting of... well... you so far. Heh.
