Questions need answers pleases: :)
-Can I scan pictures in and give it as a handout to my players?
-And what's all this about character sheet mods that I don't understand?
Questions about the software.
1) not yet
2) It's a plug in system that hasn't been worked on very much, but expect other people to start doing work soon. Death wolf is doing a lot of skinning, and hopefully we'll get a character sheet plug in soon too. What it will be designed to do is maintain all of the character's data on a live loading sheet, and the DM can edit things, such as HP, inventory, etc. if he wants to and update the sheets back to the players. Or, the DM can simply have you put it on so that he can view the character sheets for future reference.

Is there a Mac version, my friend is one of the best RPers I've ever met, it'd be a crime that he couldn't come play 'cause he's a maccy.
Questions about the software.
it's a crime that he has a mac in the first place :P
i don't think there's a mac version, but i could be wrong.

is there something available for mac, like there is for linux to emulate windows? (WINE). this isn't a memory intensive program, and that's probablyu the only solution

It won't matter too much in the future with Apple on Intel processors, though, since people will be able to install Windows on a Mac.

Well... heh. Yeah, there is. WINE (WINE Is Not an Emulator) found at:
http://www.winehq.com/
It really doesn't emulate Windows, what it does is build the 32-bit API that Windows uses to do most of their problems, as well as have a 'shadow' C drive with all your Windows drivers.
However... you won't get OPnP to work with it. Trust me. I tore my hair out for three (four?) months trying to get it to work. That being said, if you get it to work, I will purchase a ticket, fly over there, hug and kiss you, and then beg you to show me how.
Other than that, you do have actual emulators (Virtual Desktop that Mikkl suggested is a very good one) that actually run a Windows machine inside of a Linux/MAC box. They are severely memory intensive, you need to own a copy of the OS, and usually have to buy a 'non-demo' of the program... which can be two hundred ish itself.
Currently there is no Mac version. Tell him he needs to switch over to an OS that has a command prompt at least! ;)
Seriously though... Brad (Tux) was working on a version of OPnP that used Sun's Java, which would make it extremely portable OS wise (and probably a bit slower, but meh. I takes me things as I comes). Don't know how far that's gotten, though.

Prehaps this is not the place for it, but alas, I will mention it anyways.
Methinks someone should make a simple plugin character sheet until the new version gets up and running. Just so we can actually put use to that feature that Brad made before it becomes obsolete. I'm thinking something with five tabs, each revealing a single multi-lined text box. That way it can be used universally for any character in any game.
I'd do it myself, but I don't know how.

For you pal, we'll work on it ;), but if I don't suffer repeated hug attacks when we find a way I'll be very disappointed in you.

Wow... not only are you going to try, but you are going to hold me up to that?
Well ok then. Here's the challenge.
Run OPnP stabily and securly in a native *nix environment. Yes, I'm aware that you can use a virtual machine inside of your machine and get it to run via that, but it's a horrid solution. It's slow, it's cumbersome, and it requires too much on third party software (not only do you have to buy your virtual PC program most likely, but you have to buy your copy of Windows).
For all intents and purposes... I do not own Windows. Nor do I have money for Virtual PC software.
Have fun ;)

It's been days now, and with no sign of a soloution Robert seemed to be loosing his grasp on reality. The words "Fribub" And "Margle" Are often heard coming from his rapidly bluing lips. I fear the worst, but we cannot forget our mission, we must find the Mac OPNPW, we must find a way! We must get the hugs!

I found something that only worked with Macs that used Intel processers a few days ago, I can't remember what now but I'll dig it up if that's any use to you?

hmm... might well be. What was it?

Took me a while to give up, but I've given up. I guess the new tactic is Nagging Tux to drill out a maccy version.

heh... same empass I reached eight or so months ago I see... :P
I think Tux is pretty firm on Win-only for the client, just from ease. Well then, my requirements are clear. I shalt always have a cheap windows machine around me. OPnP doesn't make that much to run
