Well, simply because the tournment seems to be very popular... I think I shall promote one every 2 to 3 weeks. In 3 weeks, or untill enough support is gained, the next theme shall be team battles. Characters should be level ten, any race, class (as long as it is published or approved by me), and 50,000 gold. The goal will be to capture the flag of the other teams fortress, which they get to design, as long as they only use 50,000 gold alotted for the ortress or money out of their own pocket. In a week or so I shall post more details, and in two weeks I shall begin taking character sheets to be sure everything is legal. Untill then, feel free to post ideas, begin building teams, or brag about a character that can defeat everything...

Anyone is welcome into this tornement, oh, and one more thing, 3.5 rules will be used on this one. Don't worry about it if you only know 3.0 rules though, most characters are fully compatible with 3.5 and some become even better.

I am up for it.

Im all for it... however, to be honest, I think it would do much better to have much more refined rules... The entire reason Darks tourny is so cool is because its a challenge, you are given limited resources and have to manage them wisely... we should see what kind of... you dont want to make this TOO open, cause then you get a bunch of dumb asses with insane out of this world ideas *nudges Sev* ;) :P

Suggestions: For now, lets keep it with 3e, 3.5 is favored by me, but unless others support the 3.5e thing, then lets keep it 3e... Core rule books only, nothing from any supplements or other SRDs. Limit the resources given to the players so they have to plan wisely what they will do to protect their base and ensure them the ability to take the enemies...

Well I gotta go... but yeah.. take these in consideration...

oh sure, I have wacky ideas, you NEVER think of anything strange or unusual, this coming from the guy who decided he should strap 3 wands of fireball and every metamagic rod you can name together and then mount them on boats.

Okay, on the topic at hand it sounds great, but as muddy says if support isn't there for 3.5e it's much easier for me to play 3e

Re: Triweekly Tourny

Hmm.... Valid points all around. However, I am shocked that so many of you found it hard to cope with the 1000 gold. All this did to me was force me not to have, say, a +1 weapon or armor. The gold would be the base given, as a 10th level mage does not need any items to deal 10d6 damage via the fireball spell, whereas a fighter would have a problem compeating with such strength without a few magical items. There will, however, be constraints given to the strength of magical items available. This problem appears in the middle to higher levels, as magic tends to become stronger much faster then their physical counterparts. Anyway, the reason I said any class, which includes prestige classes, is for added diversity. However, as the tourny approches, I shall make a few polls to assist deciding things.
...3.5 rules will be used on this one. Don't worry about it if you only know 3.0 rules though, most characters are fully compatible with 3.5 and some become even better.
This shall also be decided in a poll, however, if you read this, the rules are mostly the same. If there is a change that would affect a characters usability, I will tell the creator. There should be no worries just because we are tweaking the rules ever so slightly. If anything, there should be joy because two of the classes are now fixed.

EDIT: I was talking to Saber on this subject, and this is what he said, "3.0 rules is dumb. 3.5 makes it FAR harder to twink. Truth be told, I've yet to find an overwhelming one."

RE-EDIT: Anyway, Saber has been working diligently on a more peremenent idea. I have read over what he has done so far, and it seems like a great plan. Due to this, I shall no longer be running the current tournement.
