If you had to describe DND in 4-5 sentences to someone who's never even heard of the game before, what would you say?

Describe DND

Dungeons and Dragons is a good game to introduce you to pen and paper roleplaying games. The general concept is thus: Like a computer RPG where you control your character with a mouse and keyboard, you control your character with your words. Instead of a computer replying with a limited number of set responses the Dungeon Master responds with words of his own, explaining how the world around you interacts with you. Unlike computer RPG's however, the story is not linear and you can do anything you could imagine. Just make sure you don't become a munchkin or esle you will be ball tapped and soda privelages will be suspended.

Describe DND

A place where you can lose yourself to a world where you can choose to be anything you've desired, but ultimately, an escape from reality.

Describe DND

Wizards website gives:

D&D is an imaginative, social experience that engages players in a rich fantasy world filled with larger-than-life heroes, deadly monsters, and diverse settings. As a hobby game, D&D is an ongoing activity to which players might devote hours of their time—much like a weekly poker game—getting together with friends on a regular basis for weeks, months, or even years.

Describe DND

D&D is...

the freedom to do whatever you can imagine.
uniting with friends for a common goal.
getting arrested for killing the 4th tavern owner in one campaign. But you were arrested together, and that's what matters most.
quality escapism.

When it comes to sodomy in roleplaying. Clay is the expert.

Although will that really attract new gamers to play DnD? I know it scared me away for a while! haha.

Describe DND

DND...hey, it's healthier than Crack!

-Avi

Describe DND

Well.. maybe.

Both Crack and DnD could provide some extra networking, however healthy that network would be for either case.. I don't know.

Both Crack and DnD will ease you into another world of sorts, where you can escape from the harshness of reality. DnD doesn't cause you to crash as hard when you end a session though.

DnD promotes sitting in one place sipping on pop and munching away on chips and other substances just as unhealthy as eating shit.

The snacks are still healthier than crack.

Crack promotes going out, to visit drug dealers and parties. As well as having sex, which is very healthy. Although such may not be the case with a crack whore...

You pretty much never get laid playing DnD, unless its some sort of creepy "special session". But that still spares you from STDs

DnD rarely involves you getting arrested, although there have been a few mishaps (see also Reno 911)

I agree with Solace.

Depends on the session. Sometimes I just need one more hit. Just that one extra tumbling check that gets you past Evil McBadguy, then sneak attack, then save the party that has a total of 15 hp, and save the world!! = euphoriaaaaaa.... /me's eyes roll back into his head.

Describe DND

nothing beats the awe and amazement of a fellow gamer describing an action your character took.

for example, i ran solaces barbarian over with a wagon, and came around for another pass, on that pass the wagon squished three goblins, and i tackled about 4 if i remember right. not bad for a thief.
