Friends,
Assuming the system issues are resolved, I may be starting a game.
*Waits for the applause/cheering/booing to die down*
A lot of this is theoretical though. Due to current state of affairs, but it would be a somewhat innovative campaign. ((You don't start out in a tavern :P ))
I would need 2-4 people, (I can only handle 5, tops. Prefer only 2 or 3) Willing to meet once, maybe twice a week. Likely at the same time.
I use AD&D but I use a modified 1st/2nd ruleset, and as such, only new chars would be allowed. (And would be made within my specifications)
Mainly the topic for here is, to talk about the aspects of such a game, and what it would entail.
Base setting.
You are a member of one of two/three royal familys, The king is dead, (Natural cause, This ain't "Clue") And one of the Family's includes the next Heir to the throne.
Different factions/agendas exist.
The players will just get caught up in what is a somewhat current storyline. And then whatever happens from there, Happens.
Non-linear. And not a dungeon crawl. But it's not a coffee-chat, RP intense thing either.
Anyways. As stated, this is all theoretical, But thought I'd start poking people.

I would like to join, but alas I cannot. I have tried to join games and, to many people's dissapointment, have figured that I just do not have the time to dedicate weekly to a game. I could still play, if you would have me. I can roleplay a PNPC (Player Non Player Character). Thats an acronym I just made up. What I mean is, a side-character who is somewhat relevant to the plot and pops his head in on the occasion.
Although.. I really don't know ADnD rules, I began playing after 3e was published.
I don't know.. I guess just tell me what you think :)

If you can RP you'd be welcome, and to throw you in as an PNPC as an aide would only be a big help. You'd be very welcome. And we can even make it just a side-non-crucial PC or something to make it fun for you too still.
:)
MORE!? :D

Roll dice when I ask. :P
For differences between them. Here are some things to note.
Skills, In 3e, you have ranks in skills. same as in earlier editions, but the amounts changed. and were called non-weapon proficiencies, same goes with weapons, (Point buy system)
Instead of d20, they used a system called THAC0 which stood for "To Hit Armor Class 0 (Zero)"
Where AC 0 was = to an 3E AC of 20.
AC 10 was = to an 3E AC of 10.
AC -10 was = to an 3E AC of 30
I'll likely convert this for ease, and use standard d20.
Stats had a different scale. But otherwise it was still higher = better.
It's a good way to get feet wet though. Since this is more RP based, (Puzzle/Strategy) Then dungeon hack/slash. So if you can RP, you'd be fine. I can help with the rest.
Basically if this were to go forwards, it would go forth with several level 3-7 (I haven't decided) Chars, exploring character depth and story, more then character advancement in power. I'd also try to get a unique class for each player. (Mage/Rogue/Fighter) depending. But being mostly RP, it depends on the player.
Should session go forth, and have good success, continuation per player on single adventures, Would be possible. even if just in correspondence. Where advancement in power would probably increase slightly. (Gaining a level or two during initial campaign isn't outside of possibility, just to clarify.)

I want a THAC0. I'm hungy.. (yes hungy)
Well then, I would definitely like to play when possible. I have a few ideas. Email me and I will start a conversation with you about character concepts.

If you are familiar with 3.5e rules and are capable of doing so, I might suggest converting the adventure so said edition. I only say that because you are likely to reveice more players that way. At least I'd think, considering that most people know 3e/3.5e rules and only some know 2e. Then again, there's always time to learn.

I am quite familiar with 3/3.5. I just don't like it. heh.
Went a little too hack/slash for me. I like the non-linear styles of earlier editions. But that's just personal presfrences. And expect to hear from me soon!

Exact same reason I don't like it.
And aside from that. I also don't have near the resources I do for 1st/2nd editions. As I do for 3rd. Though I'm still open to discussion, since I do have enough to run any edition. (Or so I feel.) But to reiterate, this particular campaign will not favor hack/slash. And those with "Trigger-happy" Personae will likely not last long. Due to setting. (Though in time. Such might be possible. As long as immersion is maintained.)
