I have quietly begun work on a .Net version of OPnPW, progress is slow but I intend to possibly work on it during the school day. A friend of Acid emailed me about it and some other things but that computer bit the dust.

As in the past, i have an idea for OPnPW but I'm not sure it'll take flight so we'll see what this inspires.

I'm considering full open sourcing OPnPW, but not sure.

re: open sourcing

When you say full open sourcing OPnPW, are you referring to the new version you're working on or just the existing stuff?

BTW, nice to hear from you and it's cool that you're working on the program again. :)

edit: aw, the smilies are gone! :(

I'm going to look into open-sourcing the new stuff, I'll make a page about various licenses. We'll see.

Lemee just say right now that if OPnPW goes open source, I will learn .NET just so I can contribute.

A great help would be a quick summary of various licenses, like BSD, GNU [GPL one/two], whatever microsoft is using on CodePlex.com, etc. I want to know what our options are. Shouldn't be more than fifteen minutes of quick googles.

Hmm... If it were open

Hmm... If it were open source, I'd be willing to contribute and maybe even help in getting a Unix version going, too.

The license it'd be under is

Licensing is one of the

Licensing is one of the reasons I started playing with OpenBSD ( a variant of FreeBSD which in turn is a variant of BSD Unix which is again in turn a variant of AT&T Unix).  You might want to see what they thought was important in licensing.  Might even be more beneficial to search Theo de Raadt the canadian figurehead of OpenBSD.  Good luck.
This isn't the stuff I'm into, but this project you have created is awesome.
