The game went so well that we play again tomorrow. As early as we can, which is like afternoon in phees case so...unless ppl can come on earlier and I can work with them 1 on 1 (since we are in a dormant phase). Be there or be square, people who weren't here last time (Karlth) can be brought up to speed or whatever.

She has wine, only three bottles of it, and theyre hidden. I guess its fine wine. The bottles are shiney, it doesnt smell like wet dog, and there isnt any bugs floating in it (that I know of, anyways), so I suppose its drinkable. Good luck getting her to divulge its location though :p But she does have three gallons of ale in a barrel somewhere if you want to get into that... please dont get the donkey drunk :p :)

I dont mind if I do this on Fri, Sat or Sun and as long as nothing else comes up this week. I saved Sunday for Gormenghast though.

Alright, as the only active campaign on opnp (at the moment), I've received a number of requests from people wanting to join. I've thought about this, currently the campaign has Alica, Mark, Karlth and Phee. I know Valcrist and Milo have messaged me or posted about joining...and I need to lay a few things down if I'm to even consider it, as well as address some of my concerns.

1. Having a party of 6+ people will be hard for me to handle.
2. I don't want to have to 'stop for stupidity' and disruptive behavior
3. Party unity will be shot to hell, as we have various alignments in the party right now.
4. Everyone will want to do their own thing, and players will feel slighted if I don't pay enough attention
5. Challenging such a large group in combat, and keeping it moving so characters dont get bored
6. Keeping the party motivated with such diverse interests

Etc etc...I've rambled on but anyways, suggestions or comments on these issues would be appreciated.

I'd suggest splitting the groups but that may end up tedious

but as for getting new players...

You could ask for references as to the players experience, ask how well they know the system used, what they like in a campaign (if its completely opposite, say 'i like political intrigue' and the campaign is kick-in-the-door-kill-the-critter-take-its-treasure say the game isnt right for the player), ask what sort of class/race/alignment they play normally and if they can play something else if need be (no party of twelve druids and a single rogue), which campaigns they've played online (if any) and irl (if any) (if neither, be wary... teaching someone d20 rules over the net is annoying and time consuming), ask around for the persons personality as far as gaming goes (ie for munchkins or rules lawyers), and what their 'niche' in the game is (protector, comic releif, love intrest, whatever), and how they would play a band of goblins (as the band of goblins) (or some other thing that would reveal the players intelligence, such as the many uses of a polished steel mirror). Also ask what sort of genre they prefer (high fantasy, realistic fantasy, sci fi, modern, whatever) as it may be able to tell ye what sort of games/campaign settings theyd have fun in. Should also try to get an idea on the players bad gaming habits as well (such as demanding confirmation of completing mundane tasks in a friendly environment, though that can be removed through every time they demand confirmation throw something painful or at least annoying at them)

Should give you at least an idea of who you might be allowing into the game anyways, even if it doesnt help you pick who joins the group.

PS. You could also do up a survey thing for your existing players to get to know them a little more as for the way they play if ye haven't dmed for them or played with em before. Could also be used for a personal profile sort of thing so you can keep it handy if you do another campaign and are looking for players

my experience in online sessions is that 4 players still work good together 5 players for some reasons dont.

I m not really against more than 4 players but sceptical.
It is damn hard for the DM to remain descriptive enough. I dont want to annoy 4 guys with my stupid questions. I dont want to run around in a city when walking would be better and I prolly decide to stay with the party for the love of peace but cant really play my character.

To gather 4 players is also already a hard task.

I am not the one who wants to exclude players actually I want em all in a game and for that I want a lot more games going on. We need more games anyway.

3 players provides a dynamically conversation, a good gamespeed and enough time for the DM to concentrate on each player long enough to provide the right mood. <<---- Very Important!!

4 is still ok but you notice the difference already and 5 for some reasons slows it down far more than the 4th player did.

This is what I found out and this is why I m sceptical.

(real life sessions and other gamestyles may be different. this is for dnd if played online)

i'm bad with big games, i'm good with smaller parties, i agree 4 is a lucky number, but i like 3 better

twenty to thirty is bad, 10 or less just requires the dm to love dming.

before you try calling me out, i hate dming, so don't ask me. striker may be willing though, but i dunno, have to ask him i guess... waste of a post.

I'm prolly making a bigger deal outta this then need be (my mother is perpetually anal)... so if I'm around and I tihnk ill be around for 4-5 hours in a stretch, I'll tell 'lan so maybe we can get a game going anyways. Perhaps this weekend... but it would be at nightish my time (Pacific), around 5-7 pm (my time again)... so I dunno.

well, lets say i am flexible except that there definetely is Acid's game and the last rumors about when VtM is might be played were about Friday after sunset in Germany.

Since these are rumors I say anytime is fine for me after Acid's game.

I case we play tonight I would be able to be around. Since the weekend started there is also the possibility to shut down my comp and suck some real blood...oops, wrong game....but I also enjoy playing roleplaying games online pretty much so I am all with it.
