I have several lists of all (1-9 dots) official disciplines of all the clans and bloodlines, as well as many Vampire: the Masquerade resources. And as you well know, I can offer you any character concept you might need

Heh well this post isn't doing as well as I thought, suppose we can turn it into a question or answer thread for all of you neo-WW players out there, especially in light of the upcoming Mage game. For all of you who are wondering what exactly Paradox is, how Tass is used and gained, the casting of magical effects from multiple Spheres at the same time, and the ever pressing coincidental/vulgar magic use-age (examples of all would be good)

Ok I created this damn thread, might as well make it good for something. Time to write out the helluva lot of notes I've had floating around in my head for a White Wolf game. Who knows, if people show interest in this I might even run it :shock: Um...ok, here goes:

City Name: Rosedale
Location: Hidden in a valley cleft in the mountains of Montana.
Population: Roughly 90,000
Climate: Rosedale has cool summers, chilly autumns and frigid winters. Due to the elevation, it is usually overcast to some degree, and receives much rainfall/snowfall. Being in a mountain valley, the wind sweeps through there fairly regularly, forcing long coats and jackets to be a staple of daily life.
Social Structure: In this somewhat quiet mountain town, a feeling of isolation exists with the rest of the world, seeing as how the 2 main roads into the city are usually completely snowed over and the authorities are slow in plowing them. The rich strata of society exists, living in gated, large villas on the sides of the mountain range overlooking the town, throwing formal and lavish events fairly frequently. The rich make up about 15% of the total population. In the 'city proper', there live the middle and lower class . The middle class is much larger than the lower, numbering 65% of the population, with the lower being 20%, and living in a number of 'ghettos' near the mine.
Economy: The economy of Rosedale is based on a number of factors. Firstly, there is a small anthracite mine in the mountains as well as some copper and zinc deposits. Government offices and the hospitality/tourism industry also play a major role, as well as consulting firms for major companies and and other business services.
Attractions: Rosedale has a red-light district halfway between the outskirts of town and the middle of town, with a wide range of 'services' benefiting as much as the clientele as possible. There is one ski resort called the Snowpedal Lounge on the mountainside, maintained by the rich and the only source of tourism in the city...a very high class resort. Other interesting or tantalizing attractions are sure to exist (aka not thought up yet) One such attraction is Club Vertigo, a technorave club that caters to all masses of humanity, though it is notable for being the newest establishment in town as well as having little trouble with the police.
Organizations: There are several organizations in town, such as the Bunker Hill Mining Corporation and the Amalgated Miners Association of Rosedale. The FBI holds a local office in the area, though it is woefully understaffed and underfunded. The local station is WBNX-15, which supplies all television and radio programming for Rosedale. The Mountain Art Society holds frequent art shows and upkeep a private collection in town. On the rougher side, disaffected youth working in the mines have formed the Poddira and the Shubin gangs and frequently cause trouble for the law enforcement of the town.
Important People: Mayor Ridly- a hardliner Republican trying to increase the tourism appeal of the city.
Madame Touvreau- Leader of the Mountain Art Society, she is seen little except during her fabulous invite-only art gatherings.
Sean "Orel" McDugin- Leader of the Poddira gang, he thoroughly enjoys taunting the local police and FBI by never having any 'incriminating evidence' that can be pointed at him.
Innochka Onderova("Inna")- One of the few elite who owns a house in the 'city proper', she is only rumored to live in the town. She owns a dilapidated mansion, and her name is only known because some children asked the manservant that ocassionally comes to check on the house.

This rather interesting city is where I will probably be running anything White Wolf related...and its accomodating. There is more to this place then meets the eye....

Hmm, your city needs more feedback from other people. And maybe a giant statue; preferrably one that could wreak havoc if it could only come to life.

Ok some folk have said to me that it looks interesting, but they wonder what system its for, or whats so special about Rosedale. So I'll say here that it supports Vampire, Mage, Werewolf, Hunter...etc etc. Would anyone really be interested in playing in this town? :shock: If so, it'd be 13th generation pc's, with clan/charsheet subject to my approval. You'd be in an interactive town so anyone looking to come in the game and screw around will really not be appreciated. Best part of this is that I can run different people at different times, and if you want to get a group together thats cool too.

Edit: I just realized the secret history is the thing that will provide players with fun re-discovering and the like...I'm more ill then I thought, think I'll go lie down.

I like the way it sounds, and id like to try out the vampire thingie (i like vamps ) but i owe it to you to let you know that im on very sporatically. and ill feel bad if people wait, so ill watch when you got it up... sounds like a cool town though

Wouldn't be a problem Dunlop...if it was just us on, then it'd be a 1 on 1 session thing, like I said in my above post. I must say that characters created and submitted must have some kind of goal and personality, even if it is to seduce all women under the age of 20 :shock: Just an example of course, I'm just saying you don't need to be part of some big group and make it so sessions can't run when you aren't around *shrug*

Ok, after hearing what some people want from this place I feel compelled to post on what Rosedale is and isn't. I think a little intro on Kindred history is in order first. Rosedale used to be a pretty stereotypical city in regards to Cainite standards. It had a Prince, a Primogen Council, Harpies, Elysium. A power struggle was looking to be in the beginning stages, and the PC's became disenchanted or frightened with this and went into a light torpor to see if things came out better. When they awoke, they found no vampires prowling the Rack, or anywhere else in the city. The reason for this is unknown, but there are signs that vampires may soon be returning to the city. Other possible concepts involve being Embraced by one of these 'new vampires' , or simply arriving in the city a short time after the disappearance. Either way, your Kindred is now one of the vampires in this city, and it is up to them to survive in any way that you see fit. Where you go from there...is a choice I leave to you. (Character development is a must, dedication is usually a good thing, goals are also good...well you know me and my preferences by now) Rosedale is, at its heart, a game of political and supernatural intrigue and machinations, with a nice backstory to delve into..unless you feel like going your own way. I'm pretty flexible, just give me a talk.

Heh wow..might actually have a coterie's worth (I'd be willing to run sidequests with 1, or maybe even 2...hmm try out a new style of DMing too to maybe 'speed' things up). Anyways, I hope you've all read my restrictions..not being 'influential' vampires to start out as, not having high Generation..you are essentially true neonates that are unaware of political social going's on...Hmm and I think I have the best way to form a coterie :twisted: Don't expect it really soon though, time restraints have been put on me (read, Spring Break and lots of big projects yay I'm going to die). Hopefully I make it through unscarred..I doubt it though, the badgers are already after me.

Edit: I don't think I'll be running the coterie game anytime soon...*sigh* Interest seems to be spawned, but...there is the fact that I will be on Spring Break next week, and will probably have to use my dads computer to come on if at all. So...game is suspended right now, we'll see whats up.

The setting looks neat. I wouldn't mind making a character and running it if you don't mind. hm...what are your 'special rules' and are there any clans that you disallow?

Wow I just realized how many projects I have...that I can't seem to ever finish or get started. I can't even count them all, but man I should flow with one or two, like Rosedale or Gormenghast, or even FURPS. I just have to FOCUS! Argghh schoolwork and homework has been a bitch, 4 more weeks or so...then finals, then freedom for a few months (I never realized just how much I could *miss* home cooked meals, I swear I'm learning to cook). Anyways, I just have to say this: Excited players make for excited DM's, I know thats hard when you have trouble getting into the setting and such so I wanted to ask you (and this means everyone): Just what do you enjoy in a roleplaying game? Is it the combat, the subtle manipulation of NPC's, laughing when something insanely stupid or unlucky happens? I need to collaborate with you guys more, so please please respond because this is a big help.

There are many attributes of a roleplaying game that i find enjoyable. These attributes range from the combat to playing a neat, or intresting character. I like to have time to build a character that i feel is complete (meaning i like having a nice background and a personality) and that has goals, one of the things that i've noticed i used not have with characters.

Also, being able to interact with ANYONE is good.

Hah so...VtM is not dead after all! Currently I have Anouri, Saber, Striker and Arch...sounds like a good group. The setting is in my very own Rosedale, with a few changes that I doubt are noticeable to anyone. The Chronicle's name is "Blood Feud", I thought it clever Just a reminder, no Sabbat and no elder vamps..just about anything else goes. Be sure to post if you have a character ready to send me etc or if you have any questions.

Alright you folks in my latest game (You know who you are), here is the information on the latest installment, the chronicle "Blood Feud":

Times are tough in Rosedale. A wave of younger vampires have been coming to the city and its surrounding area, and it has upset the previous order. The influx of new vampires has put a strain on the blood supply, and to make things worse the Prince has ordered several areas of the city to be off-limits to feeding. The first stirrings of dissent have been heard...

Also, I want to hear peoples availabilities, and I have yet to hear anything from Striker or Arch regarding their characters...did you want in? Hopefully I can start the game next week sometime, let me know what time is good for you.

Until I get a job, which doesn't seem likely at this point in the summer, I can pretty much play all the time. Of course, I have friends and a mom who demand that I be with them occasionally in the evening, so before 5 pm or after 10 pm are generally best for me.

Inconveniences: every first, third, and fifth weekend of each month I spend at my dad's house where getting online is near impossible. Also, July 28th through August 2nd may be spent in Austin where I have absolutely no chance to use the internet. I'm trying to get my way out of it, so we'll see.

Sorry for the lack of postage this weekend - cousins' invasion of house = bad. Anyway, I'm around and I'm working on a character. Hopefully.

sorry for being the one holding things up when i really do want to play badly. i'mhaving some troubles at home with my dad, and i've been at my moms a few days lately (having nowhere else to go). those who know me well should know how little i want to spend any length of time at my mothers house.

And so after a long absence, I got the game up and running again woo. Congrats to Fae, FireGoddess and Arch for being mah lucky players. Have only ran one prelude so far for Fae, did you want one Arch/Goddess? Ah well, feels good to be posting in here again.

Actually, yes, i would like one, if you can pull that off. the only problem is that i'd likely only be able to do it before monday's session. would that work for you?
